Description: Please join us to celebrate the publication of What Just Happened, a new collection of poems by acclaimed poet Sara Berkeley Tolchin. This free event will feature poetry readings by the author and M.D. Friedman, and delightful music by the Jenn Cleary Duo. There will be a cash bar, and copies of What Just Happened will be available to purchase.
Sara Berkeley Tolchin was born in Dublin, Ireland and published her first collection of poems to unprecedented critical acclaim when she was just nineteen. Since then she has published five more poetry books, one novel, and a collection of short stories. She has been nominated for numerous prestigious literary prizes and her work has appeared in 25 anthologies, as well as many magazines, journals, and newspapers. Sara lives in a rural community just north of San Francisco where she works as a hospice nurse.
M.D. Friedman is an award-winning poet, the author of five books of poetry, the founder of the popular Internet Poets’ Cooperative and the executive editor of Liquid Light Press. He often incorporates diverse musical elements such as blues harmonica, theremin, kalimba and Native American flute into his spoken word performances.
Jenn Cleary Duo offers a mix of acoustic rock and blues, with Jenn Cleary on guitar and vocals and M.D. Friedman on harmonica and vocals.
